THE ARTIST

Born in Quebec in the 1970s, the artist first built her career on the rigour of law, philosophy and police studies. Her professional path has unfolded in the demanding field of public safety, where observation, analysis and precision play a central role.

From an early age, a desire to discover the world led her beyond her native Quebec to travel through Africa, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. These journeys profoundly shaped her perspective and nurtured her artistic sensibility. They taught her to slow down, observe and absorb the atmosphere of a place before capturing its full richness.

Painting gradually emerged as an essential language. After exploring oils and acrylics, she turned to watercolour, drawn to its fluidity, transparency and unpredictability—qualities that reflect her pursuit of freedom and spontaneity. Alongside her painting practice, she developed a strong interest in urban sketching, refining her sense of composition, gesture and direct observation.

Today, the artist works at the heart of the city, where life unfolds. Whether on a street corner or surrounded by the movement of everyday life, she first builds the structure of her work in ink, then allows water and colour to reveal the light, contrasts and emotions of a place. Passersby become a discreet, almost choreographed presence. Rather than simply depicting a scene, her work seeks to capture its atmosphere.

Her approach brings together two complementary forces: discipline and instinct. The precision of line interacts with the freedom of water. She is particularly drawn to what might escape a hurried glance—a vibrant façade, a play of light, an unexpected perspective, or the everyday details that quietly tell the story of a place.

Based in Drummondville, Quebec, she continues this dialogue between structure and poetry, driven by a desire to capture the soul of urban landscapes and reveal the often-overlooked beauty found in our everyday surroundings.

In 2026, she was admitted as a Signature Member of the Institut des arts figuratifs (IAF), a distinction recognizing the maturity of her artistic practice and her contribution to the advancement of figurative art.
